When I was 15 my mother passed away suddenly. My father, whom had divorced my mother several years prior, felt the funeral expenses should fall to my mother's parents and siblings. Her family felt it was his responsibility to provide for his children's mother's funeral expenses. Amidst the grief and quibbling the final resting place was left unaddressed. She was cremated and eventually placed at rest in an unmarked plot somewhere in my home town. To this day I have no idea where she is buried. What I do have is a painting I created that reminds me of her. It may seem small, but this one piece of art gives me a connection to a loved one long ago lost to me. It gives me a small amount of peace, and through Memorial Portrait Painting and Personalized Casket Art, I hope to offer that small comfort to you as well.
